Indian Navy on high alert after intelligence of terrorists attack

The Indian Navy has given high-alert intelligence at sea and in coastal areas, indicating that suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists have infiltrated Tamil Nadu.

“Looking at the intelligence inputs, the Indian Navy continues to maintain its high position in the sea and coastal areas,” a defense spokesman told PTI language here on Saturday.

Security has been tightened throughout Tamil Nadu following intelligence reports that Lashkar-e-Taiba members had infiltrated the state.

Coimbatore’s Police Commissioner Sumit Sharan said on Friday that the city was on high alert following information that the terrorists were going there.

Officials said the report stated that six members of the terrorist group Lashkar entered the sea from Sri Lanka and went to various cities.

Director-General of Police of Kerala Loknath Behera has also instructed the District Police Chiefs to maintain complete vigil across the state.
