The Pakistan Army on Thursday made several transfers and postings to key positions of seniority.
According to the media wing of the military, Lieutenant General Wasim Ashraf has been posted as Commander Southern Command, Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas as Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Khalid Zia as Inspector General Arms, Lieutenant General Muhammad Chirag Haider has been done. As Director-General JSHQ, while Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar has been appointed as Chairman Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF).
On Wednesday, four major generals of the Pakistan Army were promoted to the rank of lieutenant general.
According to ISPR, the people promoted were Major General Muhammad Amer, Major General Muhammad Chirag Haider, Major General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum, and Major General Khalid Zia.
The promoted officers are to take up their new positions after the retirement of three lieutenant generals in the last week of the current month. Another vacancy will come in the last week of November when General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chairman of the Staff Committee (CJCSC) retires as Joint Chief.
The three 3-star generals to retire this month include former Director General ISPR Lt Gen Asim Salim Bajwa, who is currently Commander Southern Command (Quetta), National Defense University (NDU) President Lt Gen Amir Riaz and POF Chairman Lt Gen Serving as Sadiq. Ali.
